Missouri is having one of its best seasons in a long time, as the Tigers moved to 7-1 with a 34-12 win against South Carolina on Saturday. It was a total team effort in Columbia, Missouri as the offense had 418 total yards of offense. On defense, the Tigers sacked Spencer Rattler 6 times and held the Gamecocks to 286 yards. It was a great day to be a Missouri fan, but the biggest game in sometime for the Tigers is looming.

After next week’s bye, the Tigers will head to Athens to take on the No. 1 and 2-time defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs.

After the game, coach Eli Drinkwitz told reporters what his message to his team was.

“Don’t peak too soon,” Drinkwitz told reporters. “It’s really for the fans to look at the schedule and say, we will get this one, get that one, but in that locker room, it’s hard. You’re physically beat up, you’re physically worn out. Our guys aren’t even in the frame of mind to think about Georgia. I’m telling you right now, they are thinking about having tomorrow off.”

The bye is coming after a perfect time for the Tigers, as their schedule becomes very challenging quickly. After heading to Georgia in two weeks, they have Tennessee the following week.
