Eli Drinkwitz has not often been scared to say what’s on his mind.

On Saturday following Missouri practice, Drinkwitz addressed reporters and tackled the topic everyone wants to talk about: Conference realignment.

Among other things, Drinkwitz noted that the realignment may be good for the institutions, but it is not good for the student athletes who actually play the game. In all, Drink was targeting the hypocrisy of limiting what players can do and turning around to act without letting them have any say in a topic as important as this.

“I thought the transfer portal window was closed,” Drinkwitz said. “Oh that’s just for the student athletes I guess. The adults in the room can do whatever they want.”

It’s a comment that some will agree with and others won’t. But ultimately, this move will make the lives of all student athletes that much harder, especially non-football players as he pointed out.
