Eli Drinkwitz was thrilled after his team defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 36-7 in Columbia. The Tigers dominated the Vols in all facets of the game and improved to 8-2 on the season.

“How ’bout them Tigers!?” Drinkwitz declared in the locker room after the game. “Hey, I stand on ‘business,’ and business is booming.”

The Tigers are now 4-2 in the SEC and 8-2 overall. This is after the team went just 3-5 in SEC play and 6-6 overall last season. Beating the Vols was definitely on Drinkwitz’s to-do list. The Vols blew out the Tigers last season, winning 66-24. The Vols had won 4 in a row in the series before Saturday.

Against the Vols, running back Cody Schrader had an incredible game. Schrader accounted for over 300 yards by himself, running for 205 and catching 5 passes for 116 yards. The Tigers’ defense was also fantastic, holding the Vols to just 83 rushing yards. Mizzou dominated the line of scrimmage and the time of possession, having the ball for just under 40 minutes.

The Tigers cannot win the SEC East, but they still have much to be proud of for this season. The team will finish out the season with games against Florida and Arkansas.
