Tuesday’s practice didn’t go according to plan for former Mizzou LB Donavin Newsom.

The rookie linebacker, who signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent, left the field in an ambulance after a nasty collision with a teammate, according to KRON4.com.

He was taken to the hospital with suspected head and neck injuries, though the extent of his injuries isn’t known at this time.

Fortunately, according to reports, San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan said Newsom had movement in his lower body and he hopes the rookie linebacker will be all right in the near future:

As a senior in 2016, Newsom recorded 73 tackles (5.5 for a loss) and three sacks for the Tigers.
