Former Missouri QB Drew Lock will make a rare start Sunday afternoon for the Seattle Seahawks and it won’t be an easy assignment.

Lock will be the starter against the San Francisco 49ers. According to reports, Seahawks starter Geno Smith has been bothered by a groin injury.

Lock, a second-round draft choice of the Denver Broncos in 2019, made his last start on Jan. 8, 2022 in a 28-24 loss to Kansas City.

Playing behind Smith this season, Lock has thrown only 12 passes, completing 4 for 66 yards. He played sparingly last season for the Bronc0s, after starting 13 games in 2020.

Lock threw for 12,193 yards and 99 TDs in his career at Mizzou, where current Tennessee coach Josh Heupel was his QB coach and offensive coordinator.
