Hayden Buckley achieved a rare feat in golf at a PGA Tour event.

Buckley, who is a former Missouri golfer, hit a hole-in-one shot on Thursday morning at The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Buckley was in the second group of the day. The remarkable outcome happened at the 17th hole.

It was a perfect swing that carried over the water and rolled down the slope before the hole. The ball speed was clocked at 106 mph and the ball’s apex reached 81 feet in the air before it hit the course on the 17th hole. It was a tricky swing for Buckley to keep the ball on the green and to avoid the water near the hole.

Immediately after he made the hole-in-one, Buckley celebrated accordingly with his crew. Buckley tossed his hat in the air and shook hands with the crew members that surrounded him. The crowd roared for Buckley as he registered what just took place.

Following his hole-in-one, Buckley moved up to a tie for 3rd place in the championship. He will look to win the entire championship this weekend. Buckley turned professional in 2018 and has experience playing in key tournaments.

In 2022, Buckley finished tied at 66th in The Players Championship.
