Missouri defeated Tennessee 79-71 on Friday afternoon to earn a spot in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament.

The Tigers scored an impressive 49 points in the 2nd half to secure the win. D’Moi Hodge and Kobe Brown combined to score 50 of Mizzou’s 79 points.

This is Missouri’s 1st-ever trip to the semifinals of the SEC tournament.

This was Missouri’s 2nd victory over Tennessee this season. The Tigers defeated the Vols in Knoxville back in February.

Missouri has had a great 1st season with Dennis Gates in charge. The Tigers are cruising toward their 1st NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021. Missouri is a No. 7 seed — and rising — in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology update.

Missouri will face No. 1-seeded Alabama in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament on Saturday. Mizzou has faced Alabama just once so far this season. The Crimson Tide won in Columbia back on Jan. 21.

Tipoff for Missouri-Alabama will be at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
