Missouri basketball took a big hit on Tuesday.

The Tigers announced that veteran guard Kaleb Brown will miss the remainder of the season due to a stress reaction in his left shin. The junior averaged 1 point per game in his limited minutes this season.

While Brown didn’t play a significant role last season, the Tigers were looking for him to make a big leap in his 3rd year. Unfortunately for Missouri, he’ll have to wait until next season.

The news about Brown’s injury just adds to what has been a rough start for Missouri this season. The Tigers have already dropped a pair of games this season, first to Memphis and then to Jackson State, which had not won a game before beating Missouri.

In his second season at the helm, Dennis Gates is looking to reroute his season before it gets out of hand. Missouri has a couple of games to get things back on track, but they have a handful of tough opponents to get past before conference play, including No. 1 Kansas.
