Scott Van Pelt’s lock of the week had a double meaning this week.

That’s because the SportsCenter anchor chose Missouri and quarterback Drew Lock to beat No. 12 Kentucky on Saturday despite the Tigers giving a touchdown. You can see Van Pelt’s explanation of his pick in the video below, which was tweeted by Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones.

The game’s spread is a little odd, as Van Pelt himself notes. Kentucky enters as a top-15 team with a 4-1 SEC record, while Missouri has just four wins and none in conference play. The Wildcats look like a sure bet when you remove context, but they’re currently working through quarterback issues that could seriously hamper their offense on the road.

Who knows, maybe Van Pelt just wanted to make a pun on Lock’s name.
