It could be a rough year for Barry Odom and the Tigers in 2017.

There’s just not enough talent in the state. Well, not yet, at least. We do have almost another year before National Signing Day, so Mizzou isn’t doomed just yet.

The Tigers rely heavily on in-state recruiting, but only eight players from the 2017 class are even ranked in the 247Sports Composite.

Their shining star right now is weak-side DE Chester Graves, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound junior out of Kansas City. He has received offers from Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Wisconsin, but his interest has remained with the Tigers. Even after receiving an offer from the Mizzou after his sophomore season, Graves is still pushing to be better for the Tigers coaches.

DaRon Davis is another early Mizzou commit who looks to add a little something to the Tigers in 2017. Davis is another four-star athlete out of Kansas City. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound junior received offers form Mizzou, Illinois, Iowa State and Kansas, but last November, he became the Tigers’ first 2017 commit.

Djimon Colbert has been having monster seasons since he first started playing for Winnetonka High School in Kansas City. Colbert has recently moved to Bishop Miege High School in Kansas, but we will consider him a recruit from the state of Missouri as long as 247Sports does. The 6-foot, 210-pound defensive back could be an asset for the Tigers, if it weren’t for the fact that he’s already committed to Iowa.

Here’s a look at all the 2017 recruits coming out Missouri.
