The 2025 NCAA Baseball Tournament is right around the corner, with Selection Monday upon us. That will set the field for the race to the College World Series in Omaha as the regional round begins later this week.

Fans already know the 16 host sites for the regional round, with that list dropped on Sunday evening. The SEC led all leagues with 8 host sites — half of the entire regional sites — with the ACC grabbing 3 sites and the Big Ten hosting 2 regionals.

Before we get to the complete selection show, D1Baseball has dropped its full projections for the field of 64, including their projections for the top 8 seeds. The teams to land the top 8 seeds in the NCAA Tournament will have host rights through the Super Regional round.

The SEC is projected to land 6 of the top 8 seeds available, including the projected No. 1 overall seed in Vanderbilt. The Commodores surged to the top after a run to capture the SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover.

Here are the projected top 8 seeds, per D1Baseball:

  1. Vanderbilt
  2. Texas
  3. North Carolina
  4. Arkansas
  5. Georgia
  6. Auburn
  7. LSU
  8. Oregon State

While not the top seed in the tournament, Arkansas headlines the most recent College World Series odds available, listed as the favorite at +475 via DraftKings. The rest of the top 4 in those odds include LSU (+550), Tennessee (+700) and a tie between UNC and Georgia at +1000, and fans can use the best sports betting apps available to get into the action.

Beyond the 8 host sites, the SEC is projected to land 4 additional teams in the final field for 12 total teams. Unfortunately, Kentucky winds up in the “first four out” of D1Baseball’s projections, with Texas A&M also landing outside the final field in the “four to watch” section.

Mississippi State, Florida, Alabama and Oklahoma are the other SEC teams projected to be in the final field but playing away from home to start their runs.

The full bracket and entire designations will be revealed during the selection show on Monday. Fans can tune into that broadcast around 12 pm ET on ESPN2.
