8 SEC players named Freshman All-Americans by Baseball America

The 2026 college baseball season is all done, which means it’s time for postseason honors. Recently, Baseball America named its Freshman All-American team.
The SEC is well-represented on the team, with 8 selections. Seven players are first-team selections, while Auburn’s Mason McCraine was named as part of the second team.

Here are the 8 Freshman All-Americans from the SEC:

- Mississippi State OF Jacob Parker

- Oklahoma P Cord Rager
- Texas P Sam Cozart
- Auburn OF Mason McCraine
Texas outfielder Anthony Pack Jr. was named Baseball America’s Freshman of the Year for the 2026 season earlier in June, before the Longhorns played in the College World Series. With all 61 games in the books, Pack slashed .355/.480/.594 across 217 at-bats with 77 hits, 47 walks and 8 HBPs. Pack collected 56 RBIs, hitting 12 home runs and 16 doubles on the year.
The national champion Sooners are represented by star southpaw Cord Rager. He finished the season with a 4.74 ERA over 76 innings, with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 94-21.
Rager shined in Omaha, tossing 7 shutout innings in the opener against Alabama. A week later, in the CWS Finals, he pitched 5 innings in the Game 1 win over North Carolina.
