Coaches took a vote on who they thought were the best of the best in the SEC heading into the 2026 college baseball season, and those players were revealed on Thursday with 2 Preseason All-SEC Teams announced.
There were 11 SEC programs represented on the first team and not surprisingly defending national champion LSU led the way along with Texas with 5 selections on the 2 All-SEC teams.
Of those 5 total All-SEC picks for LSU, 3 of them were first-team selections, including outfielder Derek Curiel, starting pitcher Casan Evans and relief pitcher Zac Cowan.
LSU baseball was also celebrated on Thursday with the announcement of the SEC baseball coaches preseason poll. Also to nobody’s shock, LSU was picked by the coaches to finish first in the SEC this season, getting the nod over second-place Texas with 9 first-place votes.
The 2026 college baseball regular season is fast approaching, with SEC teams kick-starting the season in a little over a week on Feb. 13. Exactly a month later, on March 13, SEC play will begin.
Of the 16 SEC baseball teams, a whopping 13 have been ranked in the various Top 25 charts of the national preseason polls.
The 2026 SEC Baseball Tournament will take its normal place on the calendar in May, with the annual event in Hoover, Alabama, set for May 19-24.
