Georgia baseball is on fire.
The Bulldogs added their third and fourth transfer commitments of Monday alone with the additions of former Wichita State pitcher Matthew Cuccias and former Louisiana Tech infielder Casey McCoy. This comes after coach Wes Johnson and Co. added former Oregon slugger Naulivou Lauaki Jr. as well as Indiana first baseman Jake Hanley earlier Monday afternoon.
Cuccias is a RHP who hails from Simi Valley, California and started his career at Glendale Community College. He transferred to Wichita State ahead of this past season and posted a 3.53 ERA with 33 walks and 76 strikeouts across 74 innings and 15 starts.
McCoy isn’t quite the power hitter that Lauaki and Hanley are, but he showed promise with Louisiana Tech as a freshman, hitting .281 with 50 hits, 28 RBIs and 5 home runs across 51 starts. McCoy played primarily shortstop for the Bulldogs and cracked the Conference USA All-Freshman Team for his efforts.
As you can see below, Georgia baseball’s strong recruiting day catapulted them to the top of 64Analytics’ team transfer portal rankings. You can bet on the Bulldogs being a tough out once again in the SEC next season.
