With a wild week of SEC baseball in the books, Baseball America’s latest poll has a new SEC team at No. 1 overall as we hit the first full week in May.
This past week, previous No. 1 Texas struggled mightily. The Longhorns were swept on the road by Arkansas, bumping Texas out of the top spot on Monday.
Jumping up to the pole position is Georgia, grabbing the No. 1 overall spot for the first time this year. The Bulldogs are the 5th different team to be ranked No. 1 overall by Baseball America this season.
The Razorbacks also made a big jump, up to No. 3 overall from a No. 10 ranking last week after sweeping the Longhorns. On the flip side, Tennessee continues to slide, falling out of the top 10 to No. 13 overall after another series loss.
Georgia is also now among the top odds to win the College World Series this season, checking in at +1200 via DraftKings. That puts the Bulldogs 4th behind only Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU. Track the latest odds through any of the top betting apps around.
