The SEC Baseball Tournament is in the books! After an exciting 6 days of action, Vanderbilt is the conference tournament champion.

The Commodores defeated Ole Miss 3-2 in the championship game, which they reached after winning 6-1 over Oklahoma and 10-0 over Tennessee in the quarterfinals and semifinals.

Vandy 3rd baseman Brodie Johnston was named MVP of the SEC Baseball Tournament. Johnston went 2-for-4 in the championship game, hitting a 2-run home run in the 1st inning. He was 1-for-4 against OU and 1-for-4 in the Tennessee game.

The All-SEC Tournament Team includes 3 selections from Vanderbilt and 3 selections from Ole Miss. The full team can be viewed below:

  • P: Hunter Elliott, Ole Miss
  • P: Connor Spencer, Ole Miss
  • C: Cannon Peebles, Tennessee
  • DH: Jace LaViolette, Texas A&M
  • 1B: Riley Nelson, Vanderbilt
  • 2B: Judd Utermark, Ole Miss
  • 3B: Brodie Johnston, Vanderbilt (MVP)
  • SS: Jaxon Willits, Oklahoma
  • OF: RJ Austin, Vanderbilt
  • OF: Hunter Ensley, Tennessee
  • OF: Richie Bonomolo Jr., Alabama

Nearly all of the players selected will take part in the NCAA Tournament, which begins Friday. Star Texas A&M outfielder Jace LaViolette played through a painful hand injury in the SEC Tournament after being hit by a pitch and was named the All-Tournament Team’s designated hitter. LaViolette’s Aggies, though, are not expected to make the NCAA Tournament field of 64.
