Alabama basketball is set to face off against Chris Beard and the Ole Miss Rebels in Birmingham as part of Ballin’ in Boutwell, an exhibition series featuring teams from Alabama that Auburn will also be taking part in. The Tigers announced Wednesday that its men’s and women’s teams will face off against Florida State on October 14.
Alabama’s preseason matchup was also announced on Wednesday, but the Tide’s opponent was not revealed until Thursday morning. With their official announcement, 3 SEC men’s programs will be competing in the preseason event, which is set for October 15.
Alabama and Ole Miss are set to face off at 7 p.m. CT while Alabama’s women’s team will face Alabama-Huntsville at Noon.

In addition to Alabama’s season debut, October 15’s matchup will be the first look fans get at Chris Beard’s newest team in his 4th year in Oxford. The Rebels return Ilias Kamardine and Patton Pinkins but otherwise have built an entirely new roster that includes PG transfer Budd Clark.
Alabama, similarly, has a few returners set to play on the 2026-27 squad. Amari Allen and London Jemison are back, and guard Aden Holloway’s status is still uncertain as he deals with a March arrest for marijuana possession. The Crimson Tide also added Boise State’s Drew Fielder and Kentucky’s Brandon Garrison to shore up the frontcourt.
