Auburn is moving on in Nashville.

The Tigers had a big lead in the closing minutes for Ole Miss made a run to cut the deficit to 3 with under a minute to go. However, Auburn star Johni Broome iced the game with a bucket with just over 11 seconds to play. Broome’s turnaround bank shot put Auburn up by 5, which was enough to seal the deal.

Auburn’s offense struggled a bit in this game, but the Tigers got the job done on the defensive end of the floor. The Rebels shot just 38% from the floor and 17% from 3-point range.

Broome finished the game with 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting. He also dominated the glass in this game, pulling down 15 rebounds in the victory.

Chad Baker-Mazara had an interesting afternoon. Baker-Mazara didn’t start this game, which was his first one back after he was ejected in Auburn’s regular-season finale against Alabama last week. He was in-and-out of the lineup, playing just 22 minutes, but chipped in 7 points and 6 assists.

Auburn will now advance to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament on Saturday. The Tigers will face either Tennessee or Texas in that game with a spot in the title game on the line. Auburn is fighting for its 2nd consecutive SEC Tournament championship.
