Alabama will hit the road on Saturday afternoon to take on Auburn in a high-stakes SEC hoops matchup.
Both the Crimson Tide and Tigers have significant NCAA Tournament aspirations. Both Alabama and Auburn are 5-4 in SEC play and have very little margin-of-error remaining if they hope to compete for the SEC regular-season title over the next month.
For this matchup, ESPN Analytics is projecting a victory for the home team. Per ESPN’s model, Auburn has a 59.9% chance of coming out victorious.
Injuries for Alabama could play a significant role in this game, as star guard Labaron Philon is expected to be a game-time decision for the Tide. ESPN’s projection does not take that potential absence into account.
Alabama is coming off of a 100-97 win over Texas A&M in the midweek. Auburn, meanwhile, lost to Tennessee last time out.
This will be the first Iron Bowl of Basketball with Steven Pearl as head coach of the Tigers. Alabama has won 4 of the last 6 meetings in this series.
Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
