Florida hit a tough stretch early in December when it lost three out of four games and observers started to speculate on whether or not the team could contend this season. Turns out, that was just a bump in the road, as the Gators have been on fire since then, as they are now 19-2 in their last 21 games.

The most recent win was a big one on Tuesday night, as the Gators knocked off Mississippi State in a 108-74 dominating performance. With the win, the Gators clinched the SEC regular season championship and will be the No. 1 seed in the SEC tournament.

It isn’t just that the Gators are winning games, it is how dominant they have been in those games. Since their last loss to Auburn on Jan. 24, Florida is 10-0 with their closest game being a 9-point win against Kentucky. Every other game has been by at least 13, with four of them being by at least 23 points.

Florida is the most-recent program to win back-to-back national championships, and it looks more than capable of making a run at matching that accomplishment that this season.

Florida will cap off the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Lexington to take on a Kentucky team desperate for a marquee victory.
