Grant Nelson and Mouhamed Dioubate are 2 of the main guys for Alabama that have been tasked to try and slow down Duke superstar Cooper Flagg. The Blue Devils freshman is 1 of the best players in the country and is looked at as the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
One of his best abilities is to attack the rim, where he can finish against nearly everybody. However, Nelson and Dioubate have both shown in their Elite Eight matchup that they won’t back down from the challenge, and have both blocked Flagg at the rim.
The Crimson Tide in the Sweet 16 win against BYU were unconscious from the field, hitting an NCAA Tournament record 25-of-51 from the 3-point line. However, against Duke, Alabama has been forced to play more of a defensive game, as the shots aren’t falling like they were on Thursday night.
The winner of this game will be off to the Final Four in San Antonio and will play the winner of the Houston and Tennessee game. For the Crimson Tide, this would be consecutive Final Fours, as they lost last season to the eventual national champion UConn Huskies.
