LSU basketball adds 7-foot-3 international center to 2026-27 roster

LSU basketball just got bigger.
Tiger head coach Will Wade landed a commitment from 7-foot-3 international prospect Gilad Levy on Tuesday. The 24-year-old played 3 seasons of pro basketball in Israel, most recently suiting up for Afula in 2024-25. Across his career, Levy has averaged 1.7 points and just over 2 rebounds per game across 51 appearances, per Basketball Reference.
While Levy’s size makes him a primary candidate to protect the rim and grab some boards for Wade’s increasingly unorthodox college roster, he’s likely to be a depth piece for the Tigers. His best season was back in 2023-24 when he totaled 4.1 points and 3 rebounds per game across 10.7 minutes of action — better than last year’s number’s but still a little under par for those looking to compete in the SEC.
Obviously, Levy’s eligibility is still to be determined — like a few other players committed to LSU’s roster. Marcio Santos, Michael Ruzik and Brice Dessert join Levy as international prospects whose fate will be decided by the NCAA heading into the new season.
With Levy and the other international commits still in limbo, LSU’s roster currently features the following 7 players:

- G Austin Nunez (5th year)
- G Divine Ugochukwu (Junior)
- F RJ Luis (5th year)
- F Mo Dioubate (Senior)
