Márcio Santos has reportedly committed to LSU.
That’s according to Draft Express’ Jonathan Givony, who cites confirmation from his agent. Santos played in EuroLeague last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv and shot 40% from 3-point range for his club.
Listed at 6-foot-9, Santos is expected to become an immediate contributor for Will Wade and the Tigers next season.
Of course, this is a crushing blow for Kentucky, who was also heavily recruiting Santos. After missing out on incoming 5-star freshman Tyran Stokes, head coach Mark Pope made plans to fly to Israel to recruit Santos — but evidently that wasn’t enough to secure his signature.

Kentucky currently has commitments from 5 incoming players — 4 transfers and 1 high school recruit — for the upcoming seasons. Pope and his staff are expected to continue recruiting the portal in the coming weeks.
As for LSU, Santos is the Tigers’ 4th addition so far this offseason. LSU’s list of incoming players includes former Kentucky forward Mouhamed Dioubate.
The Tigers are hoping to get back to the NCAA Tournament in 2026-27 with Wade back at the helm in Baton Rough.
