Auburn fans trolled Alabama during the game.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats trolled Auburn fans afterward.

The Crimson Tide scored 96 points, the most in regulation by an opponent inside Neville Arena since Arkansas scored 97 on Dec. 30, 2020. Auburn’s defense was strong last season, but the level on that side of the ball has slipped this season. Regardless, Alabama was unflappable on Saturday, drilling 12 of its 23 triples (52%).

“The best way to quiet them (the fans) was to just win on the scoreboard,” Oats said in the postgame presser. “They were quiet last year. They were quiet this year.”

Alabama guard Aden Holloway drew the ire of the crowd that once cheered him earlier in his career. Holloway scored 15 points while facing a chorus of boos.

“He’s 2-0 coming back here,” Oats said. “Pretty good record for him coming back into Neville.”

But Holloway wasn’t the only target of jeers throughout the game. Auburn fans also taunted center Charles Bediako, who is awaiting word on his lawsuit against the NCAA regarding his eligibility.

Bediako hit all 5 of his shots from the field and 2 of his 3 foul shots to score 12 points.

“They were pretty quiet when we left today,” Oats said.
