For most college basketball teams, it’s transfer portal season. North Dakota State transfer Jacari White is in the process of narrowing things down as he nears his decision.

White revealed to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports that he is down to 5 schools, including a pair of SEC programs. Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Texas, West Virginia and Houston are the finalists for White.

White is entering his final season of collegiate eligibility. Originally from Orlando, he played at State College of Florida in 2021-22, where he averaged 13.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game as a freshman. He then made the move to North Dakota State.

White played in 94 games over the past 3 seasons with the Bison. His starts increased from 10 (2022-23), to 22 (2023-24) to 29 (2024-25).

This past season was White’s most productive at North Dakota State. He averaged 17.1 points per game, bringing his career average to 11.6 ppg. White also increased his minutes from 29.2 per outing to 30.8. He’s a career 44.6% field-goal shooter, with a 40.6% mark from 3-point range. White made the Summit League All-Defensive Team in 2023-24.

Ole Miss got big news on Wednesday that Chris Beard is remaining in Oxford after being pursued for the Texas A&M job. Texas is assembling the first roster of the Sean Miller era in Austin.
