In the midweek, Oweh scored 24 points in a dominant victory over Oklahoma while playing through a minor injury. Then on Saturday, he scored 21 points in a massive Kentucky victory over Tennessee.
Philon’s first performance of the week was a 17-point outing in a 100-97 victory over then-SEC frontrunner Texas A&M. He followed that up with 25 points on 15 shots in a road-game rivalry win over Auburn on Saturday.
Oweh and Philon are both expected to be strong candidates for all-SEC team spots at the end of the season.
Both Kentucky and Alabama have significant March Madness aspirations this season. The Wildcats are currently just a half game back of Florida for the regular season lead in the SEC.
