The national championship game is set. The UConn Huskies will face off against the Michigan Wolverines for all the glory on Monday night.
Both teams were uber impressive on Saturday night, too. UConn got things started, beating Illinois soundly to advance to Dan Hurley’s 3rd national title appearance. The Huskies just win in March, and freshman Braylon Mullins is playing at a very high level heading into Monday’s star-studded matchup.
Then there’s Michigan, which mollywhopped Arizona a few hours after UConn beat the Illini. Aday Mara and Elliot Cadeau filled in for star forward Yazel Lendeborg, who missed most of the game while dealing with a reaggravated ankle injury.
Prediction markets such as Kalshi are already buzzing now that we have a national title matchup, with Michigan holding a generous edge early. Here’s a quick look at the latest odds as it stands Saturday night:
On the surface, these odds make a lot of sense. UConn has history on its side and has put together a pretty incredible run this tournament, but this Michigan team is just playing on another level right now. The Wolverines defend at a high level, are well-coached and are just tripping over talent, whether it be Lendeborg, Mara, Cadeau, Morez Johnson or Nimari Burnett — every name listed is capable of scoring 20 points any given night.
Also noteworthy, Michigan has opened as a -7.5 favorite on BetMGM. New users who enter our latest BetMGM Bonus Code SDS1550 can claim a $1500 bet back bonus, plus $50 in BetMGM reward points.
It all comes down to this. Who’s your pick?
