Monday’s title game is set for a battle between Florida and Houston, and ESPN’s Seth Greenberg is ready to make a prediction on the point total for that game.

Heading into that matchup, Todd Golden and his Gators are a 1-point favorite per DraftKings in what should be a fight to the finish. The point total is also set at 140.5, meaning the winner could be in the low 70s.

However, Greenberg believes that the total is a bit too low, pointing to Florida’s pace and offensive talent as a couple of things that could push the total over:

“I think it’s over (140.5). People don’t understand the force and the pace that Florida plays with. They bring it at you so fast, they don’t give you time to set, and they kind of flatten the defense out a little bit,” explained Greenberg. “If you watched the game the other day, how many times did Clayton just come down, navigate in transition and get to the front of the rim…

“So the pace that they’re going to play with, I think there’s going to be more possessions than people think. So my gut feeling is this thing is going to be over, even though they’re 2 elite defensive teams.”

To Greenberg’s point, Houston is the No. 1 overall defensive team in the country per KenPom, but Florida also produced the No. 2 offense per that system in the country. Florida’s first 5 NCAA Tournament victories have also eclipsed that total with the Gators scoring 77+ points in each win and 84+ points 3 times.
