The Texas A&M basketball program landed a high-profile transfer Saturday, as guard Tyshawn Archie announced his commitment to play for the Aggies in 2026-27.

Archie posted on social media that he’s headed to College Station after a breakout junior season at McNeese – where he scored 14.3 points per game for the Cowboys and earned All-Southland first team and All-Southland Tournament honors.

Archie finished second in the conference in steals, ninth in points, ninth in assists, eighth in field goal percentage, first in Box Plus-Minus, second in offensive BPM, and fifth in defensive BPM to lead McNeese to a 28-6 record and a No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Archie played two seasons at Tulsa prior to McNeese, scoring 9.3 points per game as a sophomore in 2024-25 and dropping 7.2 ppg as a freshman in 2023-24. He projects to join the Aggies as a backup in a truly elite guard rotation and can get downhill to score in the paint as well as shoot the three and play hard-nosed defense.

Texas A&M went 22-12 overall and 11-7 in SEC play in 2025-26, earning an NCAA Tournament berth as a No. 10 seed. The Aggies downed No. 7 seed Saint Mary’s in the first round before falling to No. 2 seed Houston in the Round of 32.
