Florida coach Todd Golden had some fun at Nate Oats’ expense after UF’s 100-77 win over Alabama on Sunday.

In his postgame press conference, Golden referenced comments Oats made about Florida‘s bigs being allowed to spend more than 3 seconds in the paint.

“We beat them on the glass, we scored 72 points in the paint,” Golden said. “I thought our guys were in there for one second, two seconds, and then we’d score … We did a good job taking advantage of our catches down there and our bigs were really, really good today.”

Here’s video of Golden’s comments:

In the lead-up to this matchup, Oats was asked about Florida being the top offensive rebounding team in the country. He responded with a backhanded compliment of sorts:

Yeah, they’re the best rebounding team in the country. … They go get a bunch of offensive rebounds. When you can sit in the lane for 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 seconds at a time, it helps your offensive rebounding quite a bit.

Florida is now just one game behind Texas A&M in the race for the SEC regular season title. The Gators will be in action again on Saturday night against the Aggies.
