The LSU Tigers just recently upgraded from four players on their basketball roster to 10 for an exhibition vs. McNeese. At this time, the Tigers are still waiting on Skyy Clark and RJ Luis Jr. to be ruled eligible for the 2026-27 season. Whether or not they’ll be able to take the court this year is a mystery.

Despite the lack of clarity, Will Wade is optimistic. The LSU head coach told SEC Network he believes his complete team could compete with anyone in the country.

“We’ve got a pretty good idea of who we’re going to play… of who is going to be eligible,” Wade said. “We’ll see how it all shakes out. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. It’s on me. I’m the one who made the decisions. But we feel very confident with the guys we have. With our full roster, we have a puncher’s chance in all of the games we’ll play.”

Neither of LSU’s basketball programs made the trip to Birmingham on Tuesday for SEC Media Day due to lack of clarity in the sky. According to ESPN’s Myron Medcalf, visibility for their flight was “down to a quarter mile” after two hours on the tarmac. Medcalf added planes require half-mile visibility to take off in such conditions.

LSU’s first game of the season is on Nov. 3 against New Orleans.
