17 SEC stars crack 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year preseason watch list

17 SEC star players were named to the 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List on Monday.
The 2026 Player of the Year list will be narrowed to 10 semi-finalists in early November, and 3 finalists will be announced in early December. Several SEC programs saw players named to the 2026 watch list, which has a total of 51 players.
The award is named after Walter Camp, who is known as the ‘Father of American Football.’ He was an integral part of many key aspects of the sport, including the line of scrimmage and the creation of four downs. The award is given to the top player in the sport and was given to Fernando Mendoza last year.
