No one inside the Georgia locker room seems too concerned with the transition from Aaron Murray to Hutson Mason.

“Hutson’s going to kill it,” senior offensive lineman Kolton Houston told the Athens Banner-Herald.  “When I think about Hutson taking over, I think Aaron Rodgers taking over for Brett Favre (in Green Bay),” Houston said.

The fifth-year senior was a highly-recruited quarterback coming out of high school, but when he arrived on campus, there was a good freshman named Aaron Murray.  He sat around behind Murray, but has his shot now.

According to Mason, “you don’t wait around one year to go to the Liberty Bowl.”  Given his one year window, he’s measuring his success by championships.

For Mark Richt, it feels like there’s a veteran quarterback under center.

Mason is a veteran of Mike Bobo’s system and will not look like a new starter.  Mason is surrounded by some of the SEC’s best weapons at running back and wide receiver.

He will face an athletic Clemson defense that has talent on the line of scrimmage and in the secondary.

But expect Bobo to use the ran to set up the pass and give Mason the chance to take some shots down the field on early downs.
