Tennessee was the first major-conference program to offer Brown a scholarship. The former high school quarterback who converted to tight end this season toldย 247Sportsย he grew up a Vols fan because of his uncle and said it was always his goal to play for them.
โThis is my dream school, since I was little. I pretty much made it official as soon as they offered me,โ Brown said.ย โSince I was little, my uncle, it was just that team. He had a favorite team. I didnโt have a favorite team. But I used to watch them, and I used to go wherever he used to go. I started researching them, and I looked into their tradition that they had at the school, how much they used to win and how good they were back then. And I was like, โIโm going to play for them.โ But it was just a dream. I was like, โThat might not happen.โ
โBut as I got through high school and I started realizing what kind of athlete I was, I was like, โIโm going to try to make this a reality.โ And I made it a reality today.โ
Brown currently ranks No. 22 overall in theย Orlando Sentinel‘s 2017 Central Florida Super60. He provides Tennessee with its 26th known commitment and second tight end for the 2017 class following three-star prospect Chase Rogers.
