The SEC Tournament bracket is set, but there’s still a lot to be decided as Selection Sunday draws ever closer.

The NCAA Tournament could be one of the most unpredictable tournaments in recent memory, and it should have more than half a dozen SEC teams participating.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi updated his bracketology predictions on Tuesday, and he has 8 SEC teams in his field of 68:

  • Alabama — No. 1 seed (South)
  • Tennessee — No. 3 seed (East)
  • Kentucky — No. 6 seed (West)
  • Texas A&M — No. 7 seed (Midwest)
  • Mizzou — No. 8 seed (Midwest)
  • Auburn — No. 9 seed (West)
  • Arkansas — No. 9 seed (East)
  • Mississippi State — No. 11 seed (Midwest)

Mississippi State is in Lunardi’s “Last Four In” section, so the Bulldogs head to Nashville facing a lot of pressure.

Adam’s take on the SEC

Auburn helped itself a lot by beating Tennessee in the regular-season finale. Arkansas might need 2 wins in Nashville to solidify its spot on Selection Sunday.

Mississippi State plays elite defense, and it’ll need to keep that going against Florida in the 8/9 game on Thursday afternoon in an absolutely must-in matchup vs. the Gators.

Thursday will be an intense day for a number of SEC bubble teams. Arkansas-Auburn could end up being the game of the week and a game where the loser will have to sweat out Selection Sunday.
