The Final Four game between Auburn vs. Virginia is less than 24 hours away, and three Auburn players are currently under the weather.
Three guards — Jared Harper, Bryce Brown and J’Von McCormick — are all battling illnesses, with Harper’s and Brown’s sickness worse than McCormick’s, per 247Sports.
Brown, Harper and Bruce Pearl all spoke to the media Friday, and the Tigers head coach was asked about the illnesses.
“Jared (Harper) is under the weather. Bryce (Brown) is also. We’ve got a bunch of guys that are sniffling and hacking and coughing, but we don’t play today,” Pearl said. “Jared would be — he would be less than 100 percent if we had to play today. If we played yesterday, Bryce would have been less than 100 percent. He’ll be fine tomorrow.”
Harper was then asked about being sick, but he made it clear it won’t stop him from preparing for this matchup.
“Just a little bit under the weather. I’m a little sick, but it’s not going to stop me from continuing to prepare for this game,” Harper said. “This is a big moment for us as a team and us as a program. So I know I’m going to be ready.”
Harper and Brown are absolutely key for the Tigers with Chuma Okeke already out with an injury.
