The Auburn Tigers thought they had a talented pro-style quarterback committed to their 2021 class, but that changed on Tuesday night.
That’s because 4-star QB Aaron McLaughlin out of Georgia announced that he was reopening his recruitment.
As you can see below, McLaughlin said via Twitter that Auburn was still in the mix, but that he’d start considering other options moving forward:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, McLaughlin is the No. 13 pro-style quarterback in the 2021 class and the No. 18 overall recruit from the state of Georgia.
The Tigers are now down to 3 players in their 2021 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 15 nationally and No. 4 in the SEC, per 247Sports. McLaughlin had been the third-highest rated player in the class before his decommitment.
