4-star Georgia DT commit shares Nick Saban’s pitch to flip him to Alabama

Columbia (Decatur, Georgia) DT Nazir Stackhouse has been committed to Georgia since Dec. 2, 2017. In this day and age of frequent decommitments in college football, that feels like forever. It’s not stopping Alabama from pushing for a flip.

While out in Frisco, Texas at Nike’s “The Opening” competition camp, Stackhouse told BamaOnLine about the pitch that he and fellow UGA pledge Jamil Burroughs have heard from Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban.

“We actually had a great time at the indoor facility cookout they had, we had a great time bonding,” Stackhouse said. “Me and Jamil actually got individual talks with Nick Saban. I’m pretty sure Nick Saban gave both of us the same speech. He’s like, ‘If you come here you’re given an opportunity.’ He was like, ‘Would you rather go for the 20 percent table or the 50 percent table?’ And what he means by that is would you rather get a 50 percent chance of going to the NFL or a 20 percent chance of going to the NFL.”

It’s natural for fans and coaches alike to worry when Alabama comes trying to flip a commitment, but Stackhouse says he remains firm in his pledge to the Bulldogs.

“Really they have to hope Kirby Smart gets an NFL job or something like that,” Stackhouse said when asked what it would take for him to flip. “Then I’d look towards other options.”

Stackhouse is listed at over 6-3 and 306 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he is rated the No. 23 defensive tackle, No. 27 Georgia product and No. 271 prospect overall nationally.
