After spending most of the offseason rehabbing from shoulder surgery, former Alabama LB Reuben Foster is back on the field for San Francisco 49ers’ training camp.

During his first session on Friday, the 2017 first-round pick was impressive, snagging a pick-six during 7-on-7 drills as the team works to ease him back into live action.

Following the practice, first-year San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan had nothing but good things to say about the talented rookie (via Pro Football Talk):

“I was excited,” Shanahan said. “It was good to get him out there, get him on the field. I know he’s been chomping at the bit for a while now. It was good to see him go through it full speed, deal with getting aligned right and stuff. I think he got an interception out there today, which was good for him. It was a good first day.”

The 49ers will be cautious with the rookie linebacker, but it looks like Foster is ready to go and eager to prove the 49ers were right to trade back into the first round to draft him.
