โThe hiring of coach (Kirby) Smart is the news Iโve been waiting for,โ Poole told SEC Country. โThe guy is a defensive mastermind and heโs been under the best coach in the nation (Nick Saban). Iโm sure heโll know how to run it and get things done. The future is bright for UGA. I see national championships coming.โ
Poole, from the Atlanta suburb of Hapeville, is the No. 3 cornerback in the Class of 2017 (according to Rivals). He has over 40 offers from schools, including Georgia.
Smart has been Alabama’s defensive coordinator since 2008, and has helped the Crimson Tide win three national championships. Now he’s returning to Georgia, where he was a safety in the late 1990s.
