One of the biggest games in college football this weekend will take place at Jordan-Hare Stadium, when the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs take on No. 10 Auburn.
The big SEC East-West rivalry game will hold extra importance this time around, as both squads have College Football Playoff hopes.
Ahead of the big matchup, Georgia coach Kirby Smart has shared his thoughts about Auburn a couple of times.
Here are five things he had to say about the Tigers this week:
On playing No. 10 Auburn on the road:
“We are excitedย to play in one of the best venues in all of college football. We are playing a really good football team.”
On Auburn’s talented defense:
“Steven (Roberts) is a talented player, I recruited him. Heโs playing with confidence. Their defense as a whole is the most talented unit we have faced. They wreak havoc, they play hard. They have some good players.”
On preparing true freshman QB Jake Fromm to play at Jordan-Hare:
“Crank up the noise, we have to crank it up. We just canโt put too much on his plate. The crowd doesnโt impact the game outside of noise.”
On similarities between Auburn and Notre Dame:
“I donโt see many similarities. Both run the ball well, both powerful. Kerryon Johnson is running as well as anyone in the country. They do a good job mixing RPOs and the QB can run when he wants.”
On the “Kick-Six” game when Smart was a DC at Alabama:
Kirby on the kick-six: 'That haunts you forever.'
