Doctors may have had as much input into Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa’s decision to enter the NFL Draft as anyone in the football world. Tagovailoa over the weekend made a trip to New York to gather more information and that’s reportedly one factor that shaped his decision.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that the latest medical update was all positive.
One reason #Bama QB Tua Tagovailoa declared for the NFL Draft: I’m told his visit to NY to get an update on his medical situation was all positive. He has more tests at 12 and 16 weeks, but he got a solid 👍👍👍 before saying he was NFL bound.

Tagovailoa recently graduated to a crutch from a scooter he used to get around following surgery to repair a dislocated hip suffered against Mississippi State.
Tagovailoa is a junior and was expected to be a top-five NFL draft pick before the injury. The severity of the injury is unknown and his prognosis is up in the air, although optimism abounds about his recovery and ability to play in the NFL. ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has listed him as his third-best player, and a “left-handed Drew Brees” when healthy.
In 32 career games, Tagovailoa had 87 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.
