On Friday, Alabama announced that it had officially finalized a one-year contract extension for coach Nick Saban, extending him through the 2025 season.
Saban wasn’t the only one to receive an extension though, as Alabama also finalized a new deal for AD Greg Byrne.
According to AL.com, Byrne’s salary will jump to $980,000 this year, and will rise to as much as $1.13 million by the end of the deal:
Byrne is now set to receive $980,000 in base salary this academic year, a $55,000 bump from the figure he was set to earn in his original deal with the university.
Byrne’s pay is scheduled to increase to as much as $1.13 million in 2024-2025, the final year of the extended agreement.
Byrne has seemingly done a good job since taking over as Alabama’s AD back in March of 2017, so it’s no surprise he received an extension.
