The Alabama football team added a big offensive target for the 2027 class Saturday, reportedly earning the verbal commitment of tight end Oakley Keegan.

On3 reported Saturday that the 6-foot-7, 240-pound Keegan chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Vanderbilt, Syracuse and Rutgers. Keegan was recruited to Alabama by tight ends coach Richard Owens.

A product of Liverpool (NY) High School, Keegan was offered by the Crimson Tide in June 2025 before his junior season with the Warriors. Liverpool went 9-2 in 2025, losing in the third round of the Class AA state playoffs to Christian Brothers Academy.

Keegan’s commitment is Alabama’s fourth in the 2027 cycle. He joins 4-star quarterback Trent Seaborn, 3-star tight end Colt Lumpris and 3-star defensive back Nash Johnson.

The Crimson Tide went 11-4 in 2025, including a College Football Playoff berth. The Tide bookended the season on bitter notes, losing to Florida State 31-17 in the opener and then absorbing a 38-3 beating by eventual national champion Indiana in the Rose Bowl.

Alabama begins the 2026 season at home Sept. 5 against East Carolina before starting the SEC slate Sept. 12 at Kentucky. A rematch against the Seminoles comes one week later on Sept. 19 in Tuscaloosa.
