Alabama announces tailgating restrictions, changes to operations for Georgia gameday due to weather
Alabama is taking all the steps needed to prepare fans in the leadup to Saturday night’s SEC showdown against Georgia, with Hurricane Isaias possibly affecting the primetime matchup (7:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
The UA Gameday social media account released this statement on Thursday afternoon, more than 48 hours before the scheduled kickoff between second-ranked Georgia and sixth-ranked Alabama:
Due to anticipated severe weather, gameday operations have been adjusted for Saturday’s game against Georgia. Please review the important changes to tailgating, parking, shuttle services & pregame activities before traveling to Tuscaloosa.
The statement before the “important gameday updates” also included that Saturday’s game remains scheduled as planned, so not only is the game still on, but the time of the game (6:30 p.m. local time) is still as scheduled.
But while the game and the kickoff time remain the same, at least for now pending any changes with the weather/Hurricane Isaias, there are many changes that have been to fans’ gameday experience that needed to be made known as Saturday gets closer.
Here is the complete listing of those important changes, which include for tailgating, for parking and with the shuttle service, for pregame activities and for ESPN College GameDay, which is now scheduled to broadcast its Saturday morning show from inside Coleman Coliseum instead of from the Alabama quad:
With weather likely playing a factor in the Georgia-Alabama showdown on Saturday night, here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about who has the edge in what shapes up as one of the most-anticipated matchups of the 2026 season:
