Alabama defensive lineman suffers injury during preseason practice

On Monday, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer told reporters that junior defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman suffered “an injury” during practice on Sunday.
The Alabama head coach told reporters — including Bama247’s Mike Rodak — that the Crimson Tide “have an idea” of what the injury is, but he wants to wait to comment on the injury until Alabama has gathered more information.
“We have an idea of what the injury is,” DeBoer said Monday. “I would wait to comment on it until we get a further understanding, and that would probably be tomorrow.”
It’s worth noting that Beaman is coming back from a torn ACL that kept him out of all but one game across the 2025 season. The junior is expected to be a big part of Alabama’s D-line rotation depth this fall if healthy.
Alabama just cannot catch a break on the injury front this preseason. Running back AK Dear was injured during Alabama’s scrimmage on Aug. 13 and is expected to be out for 3-4 more weeks, 5-star DB Jireh Edwards suffered an injury on Monday and DB Jorden Edmonds is expected to be out a while as he deals with a lower-body injury. WR Noah Rogers, DB Nick Sherman and freshman RB EJ Crowell are also banged up heading into the new season.
Alabama begins its 2026 campaign on Sept. 5 against East Carolina.
