Alabama fans are fired up for the season, after the team failed to win 10 games in a season for the first time in 17 seasons last year.
The Crimson Tide are extremely talented with a ton of really good players coming back. One glaring position was who was going to be a quarterback, as the team lost Jalen Milroe to the Seattle Seahawks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Monday night, coach Kalen DeBoer reportedly made the decision that Ty Simpson would be the starting quarterback when the team takes on Florida State in Week 1.
As you can imagine, fans were quick to go to social media and voice their opinion on the announcement:
Simpson was in arguably the most talked about quarterback battle in all of college football. He had to beat out Austin Mack and 5-star freshman Keelon Russell.
The redshirt junior has never started a game at Alabama, but he played meaningful snaps in the Crimson Tide’s win against South Florida 2 seasons ago. He came off the bench in that game, helping the team score the final 17 points of the game to get the 17-3 win. He has thrown for 381 yards in his first 3 seasons.
His first career start will be in Week 1 in Tallahassee, as the Crimson Tide will take on the Florida State Seminoles.
