Alabama, Florida signees each pick up South Florida Player of the Year awards

A pair of notable signees with SEC teams added some hardware this week in South Florida when RB Nay ‘Quan Wright and S Jordan Battle each picked up player of the year awards.
Wright and Battle were given the High School Player of the Year for Miami-Dade and Broward counties during the annual Tournament of Champions South Florida High School Player of the Year awards presentation, according to the Miami Herald.
Wright and Battle were two of seven finalists for the award joining Central quarterback and Marshall commit Maurice Underwood and Palmetto safety and Syracuse commit Cornelius Nunn (Dade) along with other Broward nominees Cardinal Gibbons QB Nik Scalzo (Kentucky), Chaminade-Madonna running back Keontra Smith (Miami) and University School RB Kenny McIntosh (Georgia).
Battle recently flipped on his long-time commit Ohio State and chose to go play at Alabama. Wright signed with Florida after he missed his entire junior season with an injury.
