ATLANTA — There didn’t appear to be any significant changes in the status of the University of Alabama’s injured players on the eve of Saturday’s SEC Championship Game against Missouri.
With the exception of running back Kenyan Drake, who is out for the season following surgery to repair a fractured leg, all of the Crimson Tide’s contributors were on the field at the Georgia Dome for Friday’s final walkthough.
“I don’t know if anybody is 100-percent healthy at this time of year, but he has practiced all week,” Coach Nick Saban said specifically about freshman left tackle Cam Robinson (shoulder). We do expect him to play in the game.”
Saban said on more than one occasion this week that junior linebacker Denzel Devall (ankle) is the most questionable to play.
Freshman wide receiver ArDarius Stewart and senior tight end Brian Vogler, who both sustained strained knee ligaments against Western Carolina two weeks ago, did practice some this week.
Both are considered a game-time decision, along with sophomore kicker Adam Griffith (back).
“He has been able to kick this week,” Saban said. “He’s done a nice job for us. We fully expect him to be available for the game.”
Numerous other players have been playing through injuries including junior running back T.J. Yeldon (ankles) and junior wide receiver Amari Cooper (knee).
Meanwhile, when asked specifically about the cornerback position Saban didn’t name a starter between Eddie Jackson and Bradley Sylve.
“Eddie has played well for us all year long,” Saban said. “Bradley Sylve did a nice job when he went in the (Auburn) game. We’ll make a decision sometime between now and then about who will play. Both guys may get an opportunity to play.”
