Alabama loses commitment from longtime pledge, 4-star prospect
Alabama’s 2027 recruiting class took a significant hit on Saturday evening.
The Crimson Tide lost a commitment from 4-star edge rusher Jabarrius Garror, who is an Alabama native. An elite pass rushing prospect, Garror had been committed to Alabama since July of 2024 but will now explore his options ahead of his senior season.
Garror attends Vigor High School in Mobile, Alabama. Although he’s been committed to the Crimson Tide for nearly 2 years, other top programs such as Auburn, Florida State and Texas A&M have continued to recruit Garror.
According to 247Sports, Garror has summer visits lined up to Auburn, Texas A&M, Texas and Alabama. However, it’s unclear if Garror will still visit Tuscaloosa again this summer following his decommitment.
Alabama is off to a bit of a slow start in the class of 2027. With Garror’s decommitment, the Crimson Tide are down to just 3 commits in this class. The group is led by 4-star quarterback prospect Trent Seaborn.
With several months left to go before signing day, Alabama’s 2027 class currently ranks No. 22 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
